We respect your privacy and want you to know we take it seriously.  

This Privacy Policy explains the types of data we may collect from you and how we handle it, as well as your rights concerning your personal data. The terms “we,” “our” and “us” as used throughout this Policy refer to Canas Legal, LLC d/b/a ID Law Shop and the terms “you” and “your” refer to any person using our website located at www.idlawshop.com (the “Site”).  

PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU USE THE SITE. BY USING THE SITE, YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY, YOU SHOULD NOT USE THE SITE.


1.    TYPES OF DATA WE COLLECT & HOW

During the course of your use of the Site, we may collect information from you including:

Information You Provide to Us  

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as information you provide when you register for an account with us; make a purchase; participate in any interactive features of the Site (ex: via contact or comments forms); and when you email, call, chat, or otherwise communicate with us.  The types of information we may collect through these methods include your name, address, phone number, email address, ZIP code, photos, videos, social media usernames, information about your interests or preferences, the content you post to on the Site, and any other information you choose to provide.    

Information We Collect Automatically

We may also use automatic data collection technologies such as Google Analytics to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. This will generally include information about your location, your IP address, browser type, operating system, your traffic pattern through the Site, and any communications between your computer and the Site. We will also automatically collect transaction information if you make a purchase through the Site, including product details, purchase price, and the date and location of the transaction. The information we collect automatically is used for statistical data and will not include personal information. However, to the extent that you voluntarily provide personal information to us, our systems  may associate the automatically collected information with your personal information.  

Please note the Site includes share buttons which enable you to share pages or other content from the Site to third parties such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and others. If you click a share button, these third parties may receive your personal data, including: information about your browser, network and device, details about the web page or content you shared or proposed to share, and your IP address.

Additionally, the Site includes commenting functionality on some pages which enables you to post a comment. The Site collects personal data when you post a comment, including: your name (which will be displayed as part of your posted comment), your email address (optional, to let you know if someone replies to your comment), and your website URL (optional). The Site may also include “likes” functionality on some blog posts which enables you to “like” a post. The Site collects personal data when you like a post to try to prevent the same person from liking the same post during the same visit, including: information about your browser, network and device, details about the web page or content you shared or proposed to share and your IP address.

2.    WHY WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION & HOW WE USE IT

We may use your personal and non-personal information for the following reasons:

  • Square Space Requirements: Please note the Site is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal data when you visit this website, including: information about your browser, network and device, web pages you visited prior to coming to the Site, web pages you view while on the Site and your IP address. Squarespace needs the data to run the Site, and to protect and improve its platform and services. Squarespace analyzes the data in a de-personalized form.

  • Access: If you create a customer account on the Site, we collect personal information to provide you with access to your account. This information may include your user name and password.

  • Sales Fulfillment: When you buy something on the Site, we may collect information like your: billing and shipping address, details relating to your purchase, email address, name and phone number. We share this information with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website shop services to us. As you go through checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience.

  • Site Administration Security: We need certain data to administer and protect our business and the Site such as troubleshooting, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting data; to ensure network and system security and prevent, detect, mitigate and investigate fraud, security breaches and other prohibited or illegal activities; or to verify your identity.  

  • Marketing: We may also use your data to provide you with marketing content and to measure the delivery and effectiveness of such advertising and content.

3.    DISCLOSURES TO THIRD PARTIES

We may also share your information with the following categories of third parties: 

  • Authorized third-party vendors and service providers. We may share your information with third-party vendors and service-providers that help us with specialized services, including billing, payment processing, customer service, email deployment, business analytics, marketing, advertising, performance monitoring, hosting, and data processing. Please note that when you submit information to the Site via webform, we collect the data requested in the webform in order to track and respond to your submissions. We share this information with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us.

  • Corporate affiliates. We may share your information with our corporate affiliates that are subject to this policy.

  • Business transfers. We may share your information in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of a website, a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.

  • Legal purposes. We may disclose information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries, and to protect and defend the rights, interests, health, safety, and security of Pew Research Center, our affiliates, users, or the public.

Please note that if you choose to engage in public activities on the Site, information you share there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these areas.  Please use caution in disclosing personal information while participating in these areas. We are not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these public areas.

4.    COOKIES POLICY

​The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or app. For information about viewing the cookies dropped on your device, visit The cookies Squarespace uses.

​Lastly, California law requires some websites to let you know whether they honor “Do Not Track” requests set by your browser. Because there is no industry or legal standard (or easy technological solution) about how to handle these responses, we reserve the right to not respond to Do Not Track signals. 

5.    YOUR RIGHTS CONCERNING YOUR DATA

If you would like to request your customer data file or if you would like for us to delete your data, please send us a request at the address(es) listed in the HOW TO CONTACT US section below and we will process this request in accordance with the procedures provided by our hosting platform, Squarespace.com.  

​Additionally, California residents have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act  (CCPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).  Other states have passed or may pass similar privacy legislation.  Therefore, depending on the laws in place in your jurisdiction, you may have the following additional rights concerning your data: 

Access to  Your Information 

You may have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Upon your applicable verifiable request, we will disclose to you:

  • the categories of personal information we collected about you,

  • the specific pieces of personal information we collected about you,

  • the categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you,

  • our purposes for collecting or sharing that personal information,

  •  the categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information, and

  •  if we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose:

    • the categories of personal information we shared about you in the preceding 12 months by reference to the enumerated categories of personal information, and

    • the categories of personal information we disclosed for a business purpose in the preceding 12 months by reference to the enumerated categories of personal information.​

We will promptly take steps to disclose and deliver, free of charge to you, the personal information requested, which may be delivered by mail or electronically (in a portable format).

Deletion Request Rights 

You may also have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Upon your applicable request, we will delete your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

​We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to perform our contract with you, detect security incidents or prosecute those responsible for such activities; debug products; exercise our rights or comply with a legal obligation; or enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations.  

Upon your verifiable request we will also notify all third parties to whom we have shared your personal information to delete same unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

Right to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information

You may have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information.  Upon your applicable verifiable request to correct inaccurate personal information, we shall use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the inaccurate personal information as directed by you.  

Right of No Retaliation Following Opt-Out or Exercise of Other Rights

You may have the right to be free from certain retaliatory conduct in response to your exercise of your rights such as denying goods or services; charging different prices for goods or services, including through the use of discounts, benefits or imposing penalties; providing a different level or quality of goods or services; or suggesting that you will receive a different price for or level or quality of goods or services.  However, nothing herein will prohibit us from:  (1) charging a different price or rate, or from providing a different level or quality of goods or services, if that difference is reasonably related to the value provided to us by your data; or (2) offering loyalty, rewards, premium features, discounts, or club card programs.  

​We may also offer financial incentive programs for the collection of personal information, the sale or sharing of personal information, or the retention of personal information provided you have given us your prior opt-in consent.  If you refuse to provide opt-in consent, then we must wait for at least 12 months before next requesting that you provide opt-in consent, or as otherwise proscribed under applicable law.  We will not use financial incentive practices that are unjust, unreasonable, coercive, or usurious in nature.

6.    EMAIL POLICY

We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third parties, and will not disclose your email address to any third parties except as set forth in this Policy.  We may send you marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. We share your contact information with Squarespace, our email marketing provider, so they can send these emails on our behalf.

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received online, mail, and telephone. This also applies when you register for the Site, sign up through any of our forms using your email address or make a purchase on the Site.  We will maintain the information you send via e-mail in accordance with applicable federal law.

Please note that we may email you with messages about your order or account activity. For example, we may email you to tell you that: you’ve created a customer account, your customer account password has been reset or updated, and/or you’ve made a purchase. It’s not possible to unsubscribe from these messages. We share your contact information with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so they can send these emails to you on our behalf.

​In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, all marketing e-mails sent from our organization (including our newsletter) will clearly state who the e-mail is from and provide clear information on how to contact the sender. In addition, all such e-mail messages will also contain concise information on how to remove yourself from our mailing list so that you receive no further marketing e-mail communications from us.

If you are outside the European Union and opt to receive any free resources, participate in any free training programs, webinar or other event, or purchase any products sold by us on the Site, we may automatically enroll you to receive our newsletter. If you are in the European Union, we will only enroll you to receive our free email newsletter if you affirmatively consent to it.  If you do not wish to receive this newsletter, you can unsubscribe anytime through the “unsubscribe” link included in the email.

7.    DATA RETENTION POLICY

It is our general policy not to retain personal information in an identifiable format for longer than is necessary. However, we may be required by law to keep certain information about our customers (such as financial and transaction related data) for seven years after they cease being customers for tax purposes. We may adjust this retention period to comply with changes in the law.

Other data retention periods will vary depending on the context of the services that we provide to you and our legal obligations. To determine the appropriate period for which we keep your data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of your data, the potential risk or harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process that data (and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means), and applicable legal requirements.

8.    SECURITY POLICY

The Site is hosted on the Squarespace.com platform.   Squarespace.com also provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products to you. Your data may be stored through Squarespace.com’s data storage, databases and the general Squarespace.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

​We also use the direct payment gateways offered by Squarespace.com, which, according to Squarespace.com, adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we strive to do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site.  Any such transmission is at your own risk.  We strongly urge you to protect any password you may have for the Site and not share it with anyone. You should always log out of the Site when you are done using it, especially if you are sharing a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place.

​For security purposes and to ensure that the Site remains available to all users, we may use software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Please note that clicking on any links or advertisements on the Site could result in you being transferred to another website where data privacy practices vary from ours. If transferred to another website you should consult that website’s privacy policy as we are not responsible for, and have no control over, information that is submitted to or collected by third parties.

9.    CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY 

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time and it is our policy to post any such changes on this page, so please review it frequently.  Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting.  If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we may also notify you by email or through a notice on our Site homepage. Your continued use of our Site, products and/or services following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

10.    INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS OF DATA  

Our hosting provider, Squarespace.com, can store your data in a number of locations.  Your personal information may be stored in data centers located in the United States of America, Ireland, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel or other jurisdictions as necessary for the proper delivery of their  services and/or as may be required by law. According to Squarespace.com, it is a global company that respects the laws of the jurisdictions it operates within. The processing of your data may take place within the territory of the European Union, Israel or a third country, territory, or one or more specified sectors within that third country, of which, the European Commission has decided that it ensures an adequate level of protection (transfer on the basis of an adequacy decision). 

11.    CHILDREN’S DATA  

​Our Site is not intended for children under the age of 16.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.  If you are under 16, do not use the Site, make any purchases on the Site, use any of the interactive or public comment features of the Site or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or username you may use.  If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under the age of 16, without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.  You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase our products.
