About ID Law Shop

The ID Law Shop is a place for interior designers to feel seen and heard!

Hi! I’m Erica Canas, Esq. I started work on creating the ID Law Shop when I realized I couldn’t find any good legal templates for my own interior design and architecture clients. Instead, what I found where outdated institutional forms, generic template shops selling dozens of basic and non-specific templates, or other resources that simply weren’t created by real lawyers.

With my 16+ years of contract drafting experience, including working with interior designers, landscape designers, architects and other creators, I set about to create some “best-practices” templates for interior design industry professionals.

I’ve also harnessed my extensive experience with intellectual property matters to offer streamlined, full-service copyright and trademark registration services that aim to protect interior design works and branding assets.

I’m not only passionate about this work, but I’m also a devout interior design enthusiast! It’s my hope that with these accessible legal offerings, I can help interior designers continue to expand the field, enrich our lives and contribute to our culture overall.
